Increased number of misuse of credit cards
In the last 10 days in Europe as well as in Serbia the number of registered abuse of payment cards has increased as a result of massive data theft of payment cards when using ATMs and payment of the selling points with the help of specialized equipment to read / theft of data from payment cards more
One such action is carried out in Greece in the period from 2010. till 2011, and its effects can affect all those who used their payment cards for payments and cash withdrawals in Greece at that time. Specifically, the fraud known as skimming was carried out, which involves making counterfeit payment cards based on the copying of data from magnetic tape. Data reading is done through the Skimmer, a special electronic device which the data thieves secretly installed on ATMs and terminals on which payments are made, and thus obtain information that are stored on magnetic tapes.
